You are Wronged, Cow

God has created for us cows to nurture the plantation and help stimulate its rapid growth and nourish the soil of the earth with its excrement saturated with enzymes and nutrients necessary for the plant. But with the doubling of the population of the earth and the increase in the consumption of meat, cheese, and milk per capita, it was necessary for us to establish huge farms of cows for intensive and modern breeding to produce enough to feed the human being today.

On the other hand, scientific studies have abounded in the last two decades on the negative effects of red meat on human health and even the negative effects of cheese, milk, and all its derivatives...

What made matters worse was the large number of complaints about the poisoning of the atmosphere with both metallic and carbon. Recent studies show that cows are responsible for air pollution of at least 15% to 18% of all harmful gases on the planet's surface.

To give us an idea of the gravity of this percentage, it is sufficient to say that all the harmful gases currently emitted by the transport sector such as planes, ships, trains, cars and others, constitute only 25% of the total gases in the world and cause the expansion of the ozone hole in our atmosphere... We may approach the magnitude of these numbers... and the black list goes on and on.

Cow farming currently invests two thirds of the world's arable land. It also consumes a lot of grains and plant proteins that compete with humans in strength...

The most dangerous of all is its lavish consumption of water, as it takes more than 50 thousand liters of water to produce one kilogram of meat...

This is in addition to the pollution of lands and rivers from their residues, especially antibiotics, whose effectiveness has decreased in treating many diseases in humans due to certain bacteria gaining immunity against them...

Poor is this cow, it seems that the whole world wants to prosecute it and perhaps kill it or reduce its presence by exiling it in prisons that are very far away...

Perhaps for these reasons, some companies have applied for a license to sell meat produced in laboratories from the American Food Control Corporation, as it does not pollute the atmosphere, does not require large amounts of water, and does not compete with humans in their grains intake.

So why did the US state of Nebraska pass a law defining the interpretation of the word “natural meat only” from what is produced by domestic animals and other than that, was considered industrial…Despite this, we see and hear of huge projects for raising cows, including the Saudi project in the heart of the desert and others...

Where from here?

Should we stop raising cows?

I do not think so. Science and technology are working to solve these dilemmas, especially in terms of water consumption and environmental pollution... Last month, I read a new study stating that consuming a type of aquatic alga mushroom reduces methane production in cows by 82%.

There are many studies and tests that enable us to reduce water consumption by half or more...

The road may be long and winding to reach our goal of raising cows in a clean environment and low consumption of water and maybe grain as well... and we took this road despite its difficulties...

He who walked on the right trail, arrived...
