Novus 25th anniversary celebration held on Tuesday, Nov 15th in Hannover attracted animal feed industry professionals from about 25 countries. Gordon Crichton, Director of the MAI Innovation & International purchasing at Kedge Business School, was presenting on “capturing innovation in a purchaser-buyer relationship”. 

 

Once again, Novus International, Inc. was exhibiting at EuroTier 2016, the world’s leading trade fair for animal production. By this Novus demonstrated the company’s dedication to sustainable solutions that improve animal welfare and the environment. 

 The celebration began with Novus President and CEO, François Fraudeau, expressing Novus’s past and future commitment to helping feed the world affordable, wholesome food and achieving a higher quality of lifeAfterward, the President of the Novus Methionine business unit, Jeff Klopfenstein, explained Novus’s strategy to grow along with our customers through the upcoming methionine production expansion.   

Guest Speaker Gordon Crichton’s main message was that the modern purchasing should be centered on communication and collaboration. Suppliers and customers need to be closely linked in order to maximize value creation by engaging in open and transparent partnerships. This cooperation should be mutually beneficial and relationship-based rather than transactional. He summarized his views on these relationships by stating, “The clients are changing, and the buyers are not the same anymore. They are looking more at solutions and services.

 

Novus also had a collaboration with Reed Business for two of their technical seminars on Wednesday, November 16th. About 100 people attended live and 70 were following the online webinar. Our speakers, Clare Gaukroger (from New Castle University-UK) and Edgar Oviedo (from North Carolina State University-USA),  presented, respectively, on the interactive effects of two different low dose copper sources with phytase on weaned pig  performance and about maximizing protein digestibility in young broilers and its effects on gut health.
