The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) has added two new consultants in the Middle East and North Africa region this fall, increasing its presence in an area of the world with significant potential for future demand.
Shakeb Elahi joined the Council in September and will be working to expand the sales portfolio of U.S. exports to the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Pakistan. Elahi is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Preparations are nearing completion for the second edition of feed-to-food international business hub event VIV MEA, which takes place in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, between 5th-7th February 2018. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published a new scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of AVIMATRIX® (Novus International, Inc.) as a zootechnical feed additive. The authority has concluded that the inclusion of AVIMATRIX at 500 mg/kg complete feed has the potential to improve the performance of chickens for fattening, chickens reared for laying and minor avian species for fattening and to point of lay. It is considered to be tolerated by chickens for fattening and reared for laying up to the maximum recommended dose (1,000 mg/kg complete feed).

Recently, Impex opened a new factory near Frankfurt, Germany, where it makes drinking nipples for poultry industry. The ultra modern production facility in Aulenhausen replaced the Neher factory which burned down in April 2014. With an investment of more than 20 million euros, Impex has now one of the most modern and sustainable production plants in the world.
