Saudi Minister of Environment Discusses Prospects for Productive Cooperation in Water and Agriculture with Chinese Counterparts
His Excellency Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, held bilateral meetings with Mr. Han Jun, China’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Mr. Li Guoying, China’s Minister of Water Resources, during his official visit to China.
The discussions explored the prospects for fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the fields of water and agriculture, aiming to enhance strategic partnerships that support sustainable development goals, expand trade exchange, and facilitate the sharing of expertise and modern technologies.
During his meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Al-Fadhli discussed collaboration in agriculture and food security, as well as opportunities to utilize modern technologies and adopt advanced agricultural systems. Key topics included closed-system greenhouses and intensive farming of living organisms using high standards and global specifications.
In a separate meeting with the Minister of Water Resources, Mr. Li Guoying, Al-Fadhli explored ways to address water scarcity challenges through joint projects. He also reviewed the Kingdom’s plans to launch dam projects in collaboration with Chinese companies and highlighted the potential benefits of leveraging China’s extensive experience in dam construction.
