
His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Engineer Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mosheiti, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with his Polish counterpart, His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Jacek Cierniak, to strengthen cooperation in agricultural fields between the two countries.
The MoU aims to support and develop the production and processing of agricultural and animal products, contributing to economic growth and rural development, in line with the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The MoU comes within the framework of enhancing the partnership between Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Poland through agricultural cooperation, aiming to develop production capacities in the agricultural sector, support technological advancement, improve production and processing of agricultural and animal products, and implement rural development projects.
The Ministry clarified that the MoU seeks to support the use of modern technologies in the production and processing of agricultural and animal products and in veterinary medicine. It also aims to enhance preventive measures against contagious animal diseases and combat them through the exchange of expertise and information, particularly during epidemic emergencies in either country. The scope covers veterinary and plant health, including animal care and breeding, safety of animal products, plant health and protection, as well as promoting economic cooperation to implement agricultural and rural development projects.
The agreement also includes conducting joint studies and research in agricultural fields, organizing agricultural trade exhibitions, training courses, and workshops, developing production capacities, and supporting bilateral trade in marketing agricultural and food products.
It is worth noting that bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Poland in the agricultural sector are progressing rapidly, with promising opportunities for investment and partnership in various agricultural production and processing projects, offering broad prospects for development that benefit both countries economically.
