The excitement is building for VIV Africa 2024, the continent's most anticipated platform for animal protein production. Taking place from October 2-3, 2024, and featuring a high-level Leadership Conference on October 1, this year’s event promises to bring together global leaders, innovators, and industry professionals for an unparalleled opportunity to explore the latest trends, innovations, and solutions in the livestock sector.
Building on the success of previous editions, VIV Africa continues to focus on Poultry while introducing a Dairy Pavilion and a practical workshop, with the support of Global Dairy Farmers. New to this edition is also a Horti Agri Next space, featuring agriculture and horticulture- content with a spotlight on innovations from local start-ups with the support of Traide.
Leadership Conference: A Visionary Forum for Industry Leaders
On October 1, VIV Africa will kick off with the Leadership Conference, an exclusive event designed for senior executives, thought leaders, and influential figures in the industry. This high-level paid conference will cover the future direction of the industry, key strategies for success, and innovative approaches to the evolving challenges of food production. Highlights from the Leadership Conference include:
Outlook and Trends of African Poultry Sector – A discussion on how to capture investment opportunities and the current trends in Africa and beyond for one of the fastest growing agricultural sectors in the continent. Related Break-out sessions include how to tackle health challenges and food security, with speakers ranging from leading industry companies, to the World Poultry Association and the Dutch Poultry Center.
The Future of Africa’s Dairy Sector – Sessions related to Dairy are designed to provide insights into the growth potential of the dairy sector across Africa and address the unique challenges faced by dairy producers. Key themes include sustainable dairy production, how to identify key investment and partnership opportunities, as well as how to empower smallholder farms. Experts involved in the session are coming from the Global Dairy Farmers, covering international practices, while local expertise is presented by the Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board.
Horticulture – Agriculture Globally and Locally – The sessions running through the conference are designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the agricultural landscape both on a global scale and locally in Africa, discussing how the sector can transform to meet the continent’s growing demand for food while ensuring sustainability. Speakers and sessions are empowered by key stakeholders of the show, such as Traide, the Dutch Greenhouse Delta and NABC.
The Leadership Conference will set the tone for VIV Africa 2024, encouraging collaboration and new strategies to tackle the future of food production. Places are limited and since demand is high, pre-registration is strongly encouraged to secure a place.
A Packed Content Program Addressing Today’s Challenges and Trends
An engaging lineup of content that is both thought-provoking and solution-driven, the conference program at VIV Africa 2024, running during the exhibition dates (2-3 October) is tailored to provide practical insights and much-needed knowledge across the animal protein value chain.
As with previous editions, the program is being developed with local and international stakeholders who are committed to selecting top topics to provide the tools and knowledge to address current business challenges farmers face in Africa. Some of the key sessions to look forward to include themes on:
