Strategic Partnership Between Tanmiah and McDonald’s Saudi Arabia to Support Local Production Quality and Advance the Poultry Sector in the Kingdom
This partnership aims to strengthen the supply of locally sourced poultry to one of the world’s largest and most prominent fast-food chains.
Raising large-sized broiler chickens for processing and cutting remains a well-known challenge under Saudi Arabia’s harsh climate and difficult agricultural conditions. However, Tanmiah Food Company, in cooperation with McDonald’s Saudi Arabia, continues to face these challenges and raise expectations by signing a strategic partnership that sets new standards of excellence in the Saudi poultry sector.
The partnership aims to strengthen the supply of locally sourced poultry to one of the world’s largest and most prominent fast-food chains, in line with both parties’ commitment to supporting the quality of local production and developing the national agriculture ecosystem.
Thanks to its leading expertise in fresh and frozen poultry, processed meat products, animal feed, and animal health and nutrition products, Tanmiah relies on advanced ecosystems and precision agricultural technologies to produce large-sized chickens that meet the highest food safety standards and regulatory compliance. Today, Tanmiah is the only supplier in the region capable of producing this type of poultry efficiently and consistently, allowing it to meet local demand and supply its products to McDonald’s restaurants across a broader geographic area. This reinforces its role as a key contributor to achieving the Kingdom’s self-sufficiency goals and underscores McDonald’s commitment to offering high-quality, locally sourced fresh chicken meat.
To support the growth resulting from this partnership with McDonald’s, Tanmiah is currently developing new expansion plans within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Commenting on the partnership, Prince Majid Fahad Al Saud, Deputy CEO of McDonald’s Saudi Arabia, said:
“At McDonald’s Saudi Arabia, we take pride in our strong commitment to supporting the national economy and enhancing local content by empowering Saudi suppliers. Our partnership with Tanmiah reflects our shared vision of localizing poultry production in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, and our constant dedication to ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability at every stage of the supply chain.”
On his part, Zulfiqar Hamadani, CEO of Tanmiah Food Group, stated:
“Our partnership with McDonald’s Saudi Arabia represents an integrated approach to supporting local agriculture and elevating excellence standards in poultry production. This collaboration is a strategic step towards strengthening food security, driving innovation, and embedding sustainability principles within the Kingdom. We are proud to contribute to establishing a pioneering national system for halal protein production that keeps pace with global trends.”
Through this partnership, Tanmiah and McDonald’s Saudi Arabia are working together to develop the poultry production sector, enhance supply chain efficiency, and meet the growing demand for high-quality local poultry in the fast-food sector. This move also reflects the parties’ commitment to raising industry standards, promoting local agriculture, and embedding sustainability practices—ultimately improving customer experience and supporting the Kingdom’s efforts toward achieving sustainable food security and strengthening its position as a global leader in halal protein production.
Both companies extend their sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture for its continuous support, which played a vital role in achieving this milestone.
