
Poultry and egg markets witnessed a noticeable drop in prices during September in stores and local markets, compared to previous days’ transactions, attracting the attention of consumers and those monitoring daily price movements.
Poultry Prices Today
• The price of one kilogram of white poultry at the farm reached 63 EGP, selling to consumers at 80 EGP.
• Prices of parent poultry hens reached around 65 EGP per kilogram, selling to consumers at 80 EGP.
• The price of one kilogram of Sasso chickens (“red chickens”) reached 95 EGP, selling to consumers at 120 EGP.
• The price of one kilogram of local poultry at the farm reached 119 EGP, selling to consumers at 125 EGP.
Poultry Parts Prices Today
• The price of breaded chicken fillets dropped from 220 to 180 EGP in some stores.
• The price of chicken thighs ranged from 70 to 80 EGP.
• The price of chicken wings ranged between 50 and 60 EGP per kilogram.
• A pair of pigeons costs 170 EGP.
Chick Prices Today
• White chicks (from companies): 25–29 EGP each.
• Sasso chicks: 18 EGP each.
• Free-range local chicks: 10–12 EGP each.
• Fayoumi chicks: 13 EGP each.
Egg Prices Today
• Red eggs: 140 EGP wholesale, reaching consumers at 155 EGP per carton.
