استراتيجية تطوير صناعة الدواجن في مصر

Egypt’s poultry sector is one of the fastest-growing and most important food industries in the country, supported by substantial private investments exceeding EGP 200 billion and employing around 3.5 million people. Since the 1980s, the private sector has been leading its development, making Egypt a regional leader in poultry production.

Key Objectives by 2030:
• Increase poultry production:
From 1.6 billion to 2.2 billion birds annually, to meet rising domestic demand.
• Boost table egg output: From 16 billion to about 23 billion eggs, achieving a 40–45% growth.
• Support local producers and reduce imports: Egypt has a surplus of 25%, so prioritizing local purchases strengthens the national industry and preserves foreign currency.

Poultry as a Strategic Protein Source:
• Poultry is highly efficient, requiring less than 1.5 kg of feed to produce 1 kg of meat, compared to 6 kg for red meat.
• The sector benefits from strong infrastructure, including advanced hatcheries and feed factories, capable of supporting the planned expansion.

Conclusion:
The strategy emphasizes achieving self-sufficiency and initiating exports as a major success, reinforcing Egypt’s leadership in the poultry industry while providing safe and affordable protein to citizens.
