Tanmiah Partners with PHYLA and RECYCLEE to Bolster Circular Economy and Food Security

Tanmiah Food Company, one of the leading companies in the poultry and food sector in the Kingdom, announced the signing of two strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with RECYCLEE, a company specialized in digital waste management solutions, and PHYLA, a company focused on biotechnology and alternative protein research, both part of the Seconsive group.

The agreements were signed on the sidelines of IFAT Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom’s only exhibition dedicated to waste management and environmental technologies. This step reflects Tanmiah’s progress toward transforming waste into added value through digitizing waste management systems and supporting alternative protein research, contributing to strengthening food security in the Kingdom.
The MOU signed with PHYLA focuses on leading research and development activities related to alternative proteins, specifically the use of black soldier fly larvae, aiming to study the conversion of organic waste into high-quality, sustainable animal feed. These efforts aim to develop local protein alternatives, reducing reliance on global supply chains and mitigating the impact of external market fluctuations on the food sector, particularly given the Kingdom’s reliance on grain imports.
This research is being developed alongside Tanmiah’s initiatives to use moringa leaves as a feed alternative, enhancing the company’s position as a key driver of R&D in alternative proteins, supporting the Saudi Green Initiative, and contributing to achieving 90% self-sufficiency in poultry by 2030.
Tanmiah also signed an MOU with RECYCLEE to support the digital transformation of the company’s waste management systems through an advanced digital platform that enables tracking, managing, and economically leveraging industrial waste. This transformation allows the company to generate added value from waste that was previously classified as an operational cost while ensuring the highest levels of transparency and compliance with national environmental standards.
Regarding this, Zulfiqar Hamdani, CEO of Tanmiah Food Company, said:
"Our commitment to sustainability at Tanmiah is not only about reducing environmental impact but also about building a resilient and innovative food ecosystem for the future. Through our partnerships with RECYCLEE and PHYLA, we are leveraging technology and biotech innovation to improve resource efficiency, enhance food security, and support national priorities through scalable practical solutions."
Meanwhile, Mohammed Al-Madhi, CEO of Seconsive, stated:
"This partnership reflects the alignment of our goals and our shared commitment to contributing to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. Through PHYLA and RECYCLEE, we aim to bridge gaps in feed supply chains by developing sustainable alternative proteins, as well as diverting waste from landfills using our operational expertise and digital technologies. This initiative will also support food security, promote a circular economy, and enhance environmental sustainability in the Kingdom in the long term."
