On March 30, the activities of the 7th International Poultry Conference were launched at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Hama University, in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Marwan Al-Halabi, and the Governor of Hama, Abdul Rahman Al-Sahyan, with the participation of researchers from within Syria and abroad.


The three-day conference includes lectures and workshops presented by a number of specialized researchers from Syria as well as several Arab and foreign countries. These sessions address various aspects of the poultry sector and ways to develop it, contributing positively to supporting and improving the national economy.
The conference is accompanied by a specialized exhibition in poultry production and health, featuring the participation of 45 local and international companies specialized in veterinary medicines and poultry farming supplies.
The President of Hama University, Dr. Abdul Karim Qalb Al-Louz, explained to SANA that organizing the conference aligns with the university’s general interests and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine’s specific focus on holding events that contribute to improving the livestock sector, including poultry, which is considered one of the key sectors in providing healthy and beneficial food for humans and plays an important role in supporting the national economy.
For his part, the President of the Syrian Veterinary Syndicate, Dr. Hussein Al-Ballan, stated that a number of important scientific studies in the field of poultry farming will be presented during the conference. He added that the syndicate cooperates with universities, faculties of veterinary medicine, and public institutions to support this vital sector, especially with the presence of veterinarians working in public health and food security.
Several representatives of veterinary pharmaceutical companies participating in the accompanying exhibition expressed the importance of taking part in such events, as they provide an opportunity to showcase the latest veterinary medicines in the poultry sector and benefit from researchers’ expertise regarding the latest scientific developments in poultry farming.
The conference is part of Hama University’s efforts to organize scientific conferences and various events that contribute to developing the skills and capabilities of its students and faculty members.
