The Poultry Syndicate in Lebanon, headed by William Boutros, affirmed that “the poultry sector is still operating with high efficiency, even more than two weeks after the outbreak of the war and the shutdown of part of the production units and farms in the south,” noting that “chicken is available in sufficient quantities and prices remain stable, as they were before the beginning of the month of Ramadan.”
In a statement, it pointed out that “despite the challenges facing the sector, it is able—thanks to its capabilities and production capacity—to meet the increasing demand, especially as a large number of consumers are turning to chicken as an alternative to red meat.”
The syndicate explained that “producers are still importing feed from abroad and are working to increase their stock,” considering that “this is essential to ensure the sustainability of production and to help maintain food security in Lebanon.” It also announced its solidarity with the affected farmers in the south, confirming that “it will always stand by their side.”
