Oman’s Al Safa Foods has expanded its annual broiler production capacity to approximately 60 million birds, while its slaughtering capacity has reached 200,000 birds per day.
The expansion aims to meet growing domestic demand for poultry products and support wider marketing and export opportunities across GCC markets.

Chief Commercial Officer Hamdoun bin Abdullah Al Saqri described the expansion as a strategic investment in the future of the poultry industry and in strengthening the company’s integrated production system.
The increased capacity will help Al Safa serve the domestic market more effectively while strengthening its contribution to Oman’s food security.
The company operates approximately 225 broiler farms, with a combined capacity of around 60 million birds. Its integrated system also includes hatcheries with a capacity of up to 72 million eggs and feed mills producing approximately 130,000 metric tons annually.
Integration across feed production, hatcheries, farms, processing and distribution helps maintain product quality, improve efficiency and increase value added.
Modern technologies, automation and smart systems are playing an increasingly important role in the company’s operations. They support farm and hatchery management, production monitoring and data analysis, helping improve productivity and reduce waste.
Technology is also helping Al Safa optimize the use of water, energy and feed as the company moves toward a more data-driven and automated production model.
The expansion comes as Oman seeks to strengthen domestic food production, reduce dependence on imports and improve the stability of food supply chains.
The increased production capacity also creates opportunities for Al Safa to expand into regional markets, particularly GCC countries, which represent a natural destination for Omani poultry products.
The expansion is expected to benefit a wide range of related activities, including feed production, veterinary services, transportation, cold storage, cooling, packaging, marketing and logistics.
The project marks a new phase of growth for Al Safa Foods, combining increased production, advanced technology, stronger domestic supply and export development to enhance the competitiveness of Oman’s poultry sector and its contribution to food security and the national economy.
