The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) has added two new consultants in the Middle East and North Africa region this fall, increasing its presence in an area of the world with significant potential for future demand.
Shakeb Elahi joined the Council in September and will be working to expand the sales portfolio of U.S. exports to the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Pakistan. Elahi is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published a new scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of AVIMATRIX® (Novus International, Inc.) as a zootechnical feed additive. The authority has concluded that the inclusion of AVIMATRIX at 500 mg/kg complete feed has the potential to improve the performance of chickens for fattening, chickens reared for laying and minor avian species for fattening and to point of lay. It is considered to be tolerated by chickens for fattening and reared for laying up to the maximum recommended dose (1,000 mg/kg complete feed).
