The price of chicken in Saudi Arabia increased on July 25, 2024. This rise was significantly noticeable and is attributed to the high demand for chicken during this period, as it is the second most requested type of animal protein worldwide. The Saudi government has stated that it aims to achieve self-sufficiency in chicken production, targeting approximately 80 to 90% of its total needs in recent years.

This effort has been supported by more than 17 billion Saudi riyals in support programs.
