Jordan ranks third in the Arab world for chicken production, following Egypt and Saudi Arabia, with an annual output of 251,000 tons. The United States has the highest per capita chicken consumption rate globally, with approximately 96.9 pounds per person in 2022, showing an annual increase since 2010, according to Statista.
This increase is not limited to the United States alone; chicken consumption has risen in nearly all countries and regions due to relatively low prices, product availability, and the low protein and fat content.
As a result, global chicken consumption is expected to rise, reflecting the significant role poultry plays in the national diets of many densely populated emerging countries, including China, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, Vietnam, and countries in the Middle East.
