As part of an extensive enforcement campaign, officials seized 2.5 tonnes of subsidized flour that was allegedly intended for sale on the black market. Rabobank has raised its forecast for global poultry production in 2026, citing stronger-than-expected industry growth across most major markets despite ongoing economic and animal health challenges.
Global poultry output is now expected to increase by 3.0–3.5% in 2026, up from the previous forecast of 2.5–3.0%. The revised outlook is driven by production growth in China, Brazil, the European Union, South Africa, and the Philippines.

Iraq has dropped out of the list of Brazil’s largest poultry export markets following the implementation of a ban on poultry imports aimed at supporting domestic production.
According to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), Iraq imported 34,500 tonnes of Brazilian chicken in 2025, down 30.8% from 49,900 tonnes in 2024. The sharp decline contributed to Iraq’s removal from Brazil’s top export destinations, despite Brazil’s overall export growth during the first half of 2026.
