Agricultural Research Service (ARS) scientists are leaving no stone—or rather, leaf—unturned in their search for new ways to counter the fungus that causes tar spot, a yield-robbing disease of field corn in the midwestern United States.

First reported in Illinois and Indiana in 2015, tar spot has now expanded to include other nearby states, as well as Florida and Canada. The disease manifests as raised black spots that mottle the leaves, husks and stalks of susceptible corn varieties, diminishing their photosynthetic ability and, in severe cases, killing the plants and inflicting grain yield losses of 20 to 60 bushels an acre.

وقّعت شركة Bell & Evans، العاملة في صناعة الدواجن العالية الجودة، وشركة Marel، اتفاقية مهمة لبناء منشأة معالجة متطورة. ويُعتبر هذا المشروع لتأسيس مزرعة دواجن في مدينة فريديركسبرغ، في ولاية بنسلفانيا، من أكبر الصفقات لـMarel حتى اليوم. ويجدر الذكر أن الشركتين تتشاطران قيم متشابهة، مما عزز شراكتهما. فكلتاهما تتقاسمان نفس الرؤية في ما يتعلق بالاستدامة وعافية الحيوانات والأمن الغذائي.

جمع الباحثون برنامج الجينوم "جيغ سو" (Jigsaw) من ميكروبات أمعاء البقرة

باستخدام أدوات التكنولوجيا الفائقة، قام علماء دائرة البحوث الزراعية (ARS) ومعاونيهم بغطس عميق في "حساء" الميكروبات لكرش البقر، وهو مؤلّف من أوّل أربع طبقات في المعدة حيث تتحوّل الألياف النّباتية الصّلبة إلى مغذّيات وطاقة.وفي النّهاية، يمكن أن تؤدي هذه الجهود إلى طرق جديدة لضمان صحّة ورفاهيّة الأبقار وكذلك تحسين إنتاجها من الحليب واللّحوم وغيرها من المنتجات، كما أشار ديريك بيكهارت، عالم الأحياء المجهريّة البحثي في مركز أبحاث الألبان التابع لشركة ARS الأمريكية في ماديسون، ويسكونسن.

المؤتمر العلمي الحادي عشر للجمعية البيطرية المصرية للدواجن

مجموعة من اساتذة وخبراء من المصريين والاجانب لنقاش أهم المواضيع التي تخص صناعة الدواجن وعرض لآخر الابحاث التي تؤدي إلى تطوير الصناعة ودفع عجلة الانتاج من يوم 20 حتى يوم 23 من ابريل.

The conference will take place in the EuroTier exhibition on Wednesday the 14th, from 10:00 Am to 12:30 PM.

Meap's General manager, Mr. Ghassan Sayegh will be one of the speakers; he will be discussing "The Development of the Dairy Industry in the MENA Region." with more than 150 producers from the CIS Countries, Russia and Europe.

Meap's team will be participating in the EuroTier exhibition-2018 taking place in Hannover, Germany from the 13th to the 16th of November.

The 2018 Asian Pacific Aquaculture Convention (APA) took place in Taipei from 23^th to 26^th of April, and counted with over 1,500 registered participants this year. APA18 is organized by the World Aquaculture Society – Asian Pacific Chapter - and hosted by the National Taiwan Ocean University. The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) has added two new consultants in the Middle East and North Africa region this fall, increasing its presence in an area of the world with significant potential for future demand.
Shakeb Elahi joined the Council in September and will be working to expand the sales portfolio of U.S. exports to the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Pakistan. Elahi is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Preparations are nearing completion for the second edition of feed-to-food international business hub event VIV MEA, which takes place in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, between 5th-7th February 2018. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published a new scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of AVIMATRIX® (Novus International, Inc.) as a zootechnical feed additive. The authority has concluded that the inclusion of AVIMATRIX at 500 mg/kg complete feed has the potential to improve the performance of chickens for fattening, chickens reared for laying and minor avian species for fattening and to point of lay. It is considered to be tolerated by chickens for fattening and reared for laying up to the maximum recommended dose (1,000 mg/kg complete feed).

GhassanEdited01 منذ سنين عديدة ونحن نردّد لبعضنا البعض "عام سعيد" وكأنّ هذا التمنّي أصبح من "حواضر البيت" يتردّد بصورة تلقائية او حتى خشبية رغم أنّ هذا التمني قد ينبع من صميم قلوبنا... فالسنين الأخيرة التي مرّت علينا قد أظلمت مستقبلنا وخطفت النوم من أعيننا وأوصلتنا إلى حالٍ من التردّي حتى الكفر بالحياة...

لقد تحمّلنا كلّ شيء... من جنوح الإقتصاد إلى جنون الأسعار إلى فتك الأمراض- وخاصة الكوفيد- وأخيراً إلى إزهاق حياة الآلاف من الأطفال البريئة دون أن يرفّ جفن لأحد من حكّام هذه المعمورة الزاحفة إلى المجهول أو ... الزوال.

لكنّ دورة الحياة لن ولا يجب أن تتوقّف...علينا التفكير بمستقبل أولادنا وأولاد أولادنا...
